A real-time tactical RPG in pixel art — now in closed alpha

Emberfaith

They forgot their gods. The forest didn't.

The setting

The forest is burning, and nobody remembers who it belonged to.

Long ago the people of the valley carved your face into their totems. They asked the fox for rain, for safe passage, for a good hunt. Then they stopped asking. Now the machines are at the tree line, and the last thing left of your divinity is a small red body and a very long memory.

Reclaim it.

How it plays

Become what you defeat

  • Become what you defeat.

Every creature in the forest is a spirit, and every spirit you bring down can be absorbed. Absorb it and you don't summon it — you become it. Each form carries its own spellbook: a beholder's gaze, a frost spirit's nova, a growth spirit's living roots. Switch forms mid-fight to answer whatever the forest throws at you. One body, one health pool, a growing deck of faces to wear.

  • Fuse spirits into something new.

Your deck isn't a collection, it's a workbench. Fuse two spirits and inherit a hybrid form with spells neither had alone. The god you rebuild is the god you choose.

  • Cast anywhere.

Combat is where you're standing. No battle screen, no turns, no waiting. Spells are on cooldown, not on a timer, and you can cast them in the middle of a conversation, a puzzle, or an ambush. Fights happen in the forest you were already exploring — the river, the cliffs, the clearing — and the terrain is a weapon. Ignite a tree to set the pack around it alight. Freeze the stream and shove the ice into whoever is standing downhill. Grow a wall of roots and cut a fight in half.

  • Move like a fox.

Jump is a spell, aimed and thrown like any other. Vault a gap, hop a fallen trunk, clear the cliff edge onto the plateau above. Every form moves differently, and some can't jump at all — choose your body for the ground you're fighting on.

  • A living forest.

Hollows, ridges, waterfalls, hidden plateaus. The forest is grown, not painted: each stretch of wildwood is its own ecosystem of clearings, cover, and high ground to fight from.

  • Built for your hands.

Pixel art, one thumb on the stick, one tap to cast. Designed for phones first, from the frame size up.
